Snorkeling & diving in Nicaragua

Clear-water snorkeling here is not a Caribbean postcard. The Pacific is often green and surgy, so the better swims are sheltered beaches on a calm morning, a boat ride to a quieter cove, or the crater lake at Laguna de Apoyo, which is freshwater and still. Diving exists but it is a small scene. Ask about visibility that morning instead of trusting a brochure.
