Mombacho, the cloud-forest volcano above Granada, is the hike that belongs to this launch. Masaya and other cones are easy day trips, but this guide stays with operators based in Granada and on the San Juan del Sur coast. Trails range from a garden walk to a steeper reserve path. Bring a light rain layer on Mombacho even in the dry season; the crater makes its own weather.

Mombacho is the Granada hike: a reserve on the volcano, trails in the cloud forest, and a canopy next door that we list separately. Laguna de Apoyo is a swim and a viewpoint more than a summit. Operators in town also sell Masaya at night; that crater is outside this region, so treat it as a day trip they run, and ask who the guide is. Wear shoes with grip.
